Memory foam meanwhile, is made from a traditional polyurethane foam mixture containing visco-elastic polymers that give the material temperature-sensitive body-contouring characteristics. This liquid formulation is poured onto belts where it expands into massive buns of foam, which are then sliced and manufactured into familiar products like mattresses and pillows. Unlike latex foam, memory foam’s texture and appearance is virtually the same as conventional polyurethane foam types. What sets it apart however, are those visco-elastic polymers that were added to its formulation. When a body warms the mattress or cushion, the foam softens and contours to the individual, distributing weight and pressure as it creates a cloud-like surface for the body.

When someone is faced with sound and noise problems, the first thing they often think they need to do is “soundproof” an area. This reduction in noise and sound confusion can make a space seem quieter, just by virtue of less interference reaching your ears.

There are other ways to treat sound as well, from rearranging a room’s furniture, to adding carpeting or even aiming speakers. It is also important to recognize not all foams are made for acoustical use, and due to their often “in-the-open” placement, fire retardant foam varieties are the only kind of acoustical foam that should be used.

The same reasons people adore memory foam –  its body-forming structure, responsive support, and temperature-sensitive design – are the same reasons the dense foam is a fantastic comfort material for pets as well.
